Double Gold for Sauvignon Blanc 2019

19 Sauvignon Blanc Double Gold
On the 4th October, the 24th Michelangelo International Wine & Spirit Awards were announced in Cape Town. There were over 2000 entries received by the organisers, and we are incredibly proud to have been awarded a Double Gold for our wine of origin Cape Town, Sauvignon Blanc 2019 and two golds for Collection Petit Sirah 2017 and Collection Merlot 2018.
Michelangelo International Wine & Spirit Awards is judged in South Africa by a team of highly respected international judges who represent seven continents, ensuring that a global perspective of the wine awarded is achieved. This year, there were 24 international and six South African judges representing 22 countries.
Lorraine Immelman, founder of the Michelangelo Awards says the judges were unanimous in their view that South Africa was making the finest wines in its history, complemented by a diverse and exciting component of top-quality spirits.
Our Double Gold Sauvignon Blanc 2019 is described by Johnnie Calitz as, “a vibrant cool climate styled Sauvignon Blanc presenting a vivid lemon-lime colour. As the wine evolves in the glass, it develops from green apple to kiwi notes with intriguing floral tones. The mouthfeel is fresh with a well-structured mid palate, balanced by bright acidity. This wine is beautifully brought together with flavours of pineapple, green pepper and gooseberries. The hero unquestionably is the purity of fruit from which it is made.”
This truly is a fabulous Sauvignon Blanc, which totally over delivers in flavour, drinkability and price. You need this in your cellar and fridge.
Sauvignon Blanc 2019 is available at Glen Carlou’s Tasting Room, fine wine retailers and online here for South Africa only
