The Curator’s Collection are a series of small-batch wines that allow Glen Carlou winemaker Arco Laarman to get his groove on and the Chenin Blanc 2015 from 30-year-old Swartland bushvines is discotastic.
Fermented and matured for five months in second- and third-fill French oak barrels, the wine shows yellow peach, spice, a little earthiness plus some yeasty complexity. It’s rich and full with plenty of succulent fruit offset by tangy acidity. Price: R98 a bottle.
