An exclusive Connoisseur’s Club evening blending gourmet dining with exceptional wines, hosted by our Cellar Master or Head Sommelier.
Limited to just 24-30 guests, this three-course seasonal dinner invites you and a partner to savour a curated selection of current and vintage wines while engaging in fascinating conversations about the vineyard’s journey – and to share a rare opportunity to meet and converse with the Cellar Master over the meal.
As a valued Connoisseur’s Club member, you’ll enjoy complimentary attendance to one of these dinners, and the opportunity to secure future spots for you and your friends at a preferential rate.
Members will be eligible for this once their first allocation has been taken, and can request an advance allocation, ensuring a place for upcoming dinners even before your initial set allocation is shipped.

The Connoisseur’s Corner
This rare opportunity invites you to explore the evolution of our Flagship wines in an unique and exclusive setting.
This rare opportunity invites you to explore the evolution of our Flagship wines in an unique and exclusive setting.
You will experience a mini-vertical tasting of our two Flagships – Quartz Stone Chardonnay and Gravel Quarry – each presented as both a current release and an aged vintage, side by side. Subject to availability, you may also be treated to a preview of a potential future release or an alternative special wine.
Enjoy a private, one-on-one experience overlooking the barrel room, expertly guided by our Head Sommelier, Stefan Reinmuth. Using varietal-specific stemware and specialised service tools, you’ll gain insight into the precision and techniques that define fine wine service at the highest level. A thoughtfully curated snack platter accompanies your tasting to complement the experience.
This bespoke experience is limited to weekdays and only to two bookings per day, ensuring an intimate and unhurried occurrence. At R750 per person, it is a privilege reserved for those who want to go beyond the glass and truly immerse themselves in the Glen Carlou experience.

What is the Glen Carlou Wine Club?
The Glen Carlou Wine Club is an exclusive community for wine lovers who wish to enjoy premium wines, special discounts, and unique experiences at the estate. Members can choose between two tailored memberships – the Explorers Club or the Connoisseurs Club – each offering distinct benefits and access to our finest wines.
What is the difference between the Explorers Club and the Connoisseurs Club?
The Explorers Club is ideal for those who enjoy variety and flexibility, offering two customised 12-bottle shipments per year, with discounts and complimentary tastings.
The Connoisseurs Club caters to collectors seeking exclusive wines, vintage access, and private experiences such as the Connoisseur’s Corner and Wine Dinners with our Cellarmaster. Memberships are limited to 80 per year.
How often will I receive my wines?
Both clubs receive allocations twice a year:
Explorers Club: Two 12-bottle shipments on your anniversary month and six months later.
Connoisseurs Club: Two 6- or 12-bottle allocations — one in the first half of the year (Quartz Stone Chardonnay) and one in the second (Gravel Quarry Cabernet Sauvignon).
Can I choose which wines I receive?
Yes! Explorers Club members can fully customise their selection from our range, choosing a mix of varietals or focusing on their favourites.
Connoisseurs Club members receive our flagship wines, only.
How much does membership cost?
Explorers Club:
From R2,000 per shipment (12 bottles, includes 15% discount).
Connoisseurs Club:
6-bottle allocations: R2,700 – R3,000

Do you ship outside South Africa?
Currently, complimentary shipping applies within South Africa only. International shipping can be arranged on request and will be quoted separately.

Yes, dependent on availability and at a set cost per person. Please note that Wine Club Members will be given priority placement.
Do you have any kind of referral system in place, should my guests also sign up to the Wine Club?
Yes, we do! Should a guest of yours sign up to either of the two Wine Clubs at a Quarterly Connoisseur’s Wine Dinner, you and your partner will be given an additional complimentary attendance at a future Dinner.*
*Please note: Club members that have not attended a previous dinner will be given priority access to Dinners.
Access to The Connoisseur’s Corner Experience – a private, Head Sommelier-led tasting of current and aged Flagship wines overlooking the barrel room.
Can I book the Connoisseur’s Corner without being a member?
The Connoisseur’s Corner is only open to members of our Connoisseur’s Wine Club, but availability is limited. Bookings cost R750 per person and are available weekdays only, with a maximum of two sessions per day.
Can I bring additional people to the Connoisseur’s Corner Experience?
Yes, as the main member, you would be allowed to book for additional guests – up to a total of 12 people.
Do you have any kind of referral system in place, should my guests also sign up to the Wine Club during a Connoisseur’s Corner Experience?
Yes, we do. For each new signup, you will receive a complimentary bottle of your current vintage Flagship wine of choice.
How do I join the Wine Club?
Simply complete the sign-up form on our website and choose your preferred membership tier. Once confirmed, our team will contact you to finalise your details and wine preferences.
When will I be billed?
You’ll be billed twice a year upon release of your allocation or shipment. You’ll receive a notification before any payment is processed.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes, you can cancel anytime after your first shipment by notifying our team in writing or simply by logging in to your profile and cancelling the membership from there. Please note that any benefits used prior to cancellation will be deducted if applicable.
Can I skip my allocation or shipment?
Yes, at the moment, you may skip your allocation or shipment at any time without penalty.
