It’s the height of the wine awards season and we have been delighted to bring home some worthy accolades, the latest being a trio of trophies at The Trophy Wine Show for our already award-winning Collection Red Blend 2019.
Glen Carlou clinched the top position in the following categories:
• Riedel Trophy for Best Bordeaux-style Red Blend
• Vinolok Trophy for Best Premium Wine
• Investec Trophy for Best Red Wine Overall
A limited release blend of which only 2 100 bottles are produced from a selection of seven French oak barrels, the Cabernet Sauvignon in this award-winning blend showcases vibrant red fruit and cassis, which combines perfectly with the Cabernet Franc’s tobacco leaf and bell pepper. These flavours work in harmony with the backdrop of the Merlot’s soft plum and vanilla spice frame. These result in explosive evolving aromas of ripe black berries, plush red fruit and cedarwood develop beautifully in the glass. The full-bodied and complex palate is brimming with dark fruit and peppermint chocolate, alongside integrated tannins, and a luxuriant finish.
A wine of great pedigree which was recognised as a 95-pointer Gold Medal winner in the Decanter 2022 Awards. The good ones go quickly here at Glen Carlou.
