Life through Rosé filled glasses
Glen Carlou celebrates 30 years of wine making with the launch of a new addition to the Glen Carlou Classic Collection: The Pinot Noir Rosé.
The Rosé welcomes Spring with a vibrant dance of flavour, taking centre stage in a delicate blush swirl. With aromas of raspberry, rose petal and a hint of citrus tantalizing the taste buds, this 2017 Pinot Noir Rosé is not just a crowd pleaser, but an attention grabber. It is the perfect festive drink to celebrate 30 years and raise a glass to winemaker, Johnnie Calitz’s first vintage at Glen Carlou.
This delicate and refreshing wine reflects immaculate care and the perfect balance of acidity, fruit and floral highlights. “It was very important that the wine would be reflective of the surroundings and was produced with the aim to preserve the primary and subtle flavour profiles of the fruit. The Pinot Noir grapes were handpicked from our vineyard in front of the winery, at just the right level of ripeness. The whole bunches were lightly pressed, and underwent a finely monitored reductive cold fermentation. The result: a wine lower in alcohol and with a beautiful blush colour” explains Johnnie Calitz.
The Glen Carlou Classic Pinot Noir Rosé is the perfect Spring and Summer accompaniment, it is easy drinking and pairs beautifully with summer salads, beef tartar, fresh tomatoes and berry focused desserts.
This wine celebrates curatorship and finesse, but also reflects innovation and heritage.
The Glen Carlou Classic Pinot Noir Rosé is available nationally from Monday 04 September at a recommended retail price of R75 or online through the Glen Carlou Wine Shop.
Not just a pretty picture, but a pink celebration!
