A colourful feast
It is that time of the year; the vineyard is starting to change into its autumnal dress. The Restaurant @ Glen Carlou focuses on using only the freshest ingredients and cooking with what is in season. Our new menu welcomes the flavours of autumn.
The autumn menu was launched in the Restaurant @ Glen Carlou on the 1st of March. The menu is bursting with rich, aromatic flavours. Think homemade terrines and vibrant salads, roasted and slow-cooked meats, and decadent desserts.
Executive Chef Johan Stander is not only inspired by the season’s produce, but also by childhood and family memories. He loves recreating classics in a completely new manner – familiar, but different. This season Chef Stander has transformed the Greek salad into an autumn masterpiece. His take on the classic is a delicate feta soufflé complemented by pickled cucumber, a tomato jus and black olives.
It is this kind of creativity shown by Chef Stander’s that gets us so excited when the time comes to taste the new season’s dishes. The menu is packed with rich, autumn flavours, while remaining fresh and contemporary.
The menu has been created as the perfect complement to the Glen Carlou Wine Collection. Each dish is meticulously paired with one or two of the wines in the current vintage collection. Enjoy a two or three course set menu or choose your selection from our a la carté menu.
